2009–2014 Ford F-150

Where it is: Under the hood, front corner of the engine bay, held by a hold-down bracket.

2015–2020 Ford F-150

Where it is: Under the hood, front corner of the engine bay.

After the swap: These trucks have a battery monitoring sensor on the negative cable. We reset it after the swap so the charging system treats the new battery as new.

2021–present Ford F-150

Where it is: Under the hood, front corner of the engine bay. Trucks with auto start-stop use an AGM battery.

After the swap: Battery monitoring sensor reset after the swap, so auto start-stop and charging work right with the new battery.

How it works

Book online and pay the service fee — your card is saved. We head to your F-150, test the old battery, take it to the closest O'Reilly for the core exchange and buy the right new one at the store's walk-in price. Back at your car we charge the battery plus sales tax to your saved card, install it, test the charging system and email your receipt. Installation labor is covered for 90 days.

By O'Reilly's catalog, the Ford F-150 takes — 2004–2008: Group 65 (650–850 CCA); 2009–2014: Group 65 (680–850 CCA); 2015–2020: Group 48 (610–800 CCA); 2021–present: Group 48 (760–800 CCA). Engines can differ, so we confirm the exact battery for your F-150 when you book, and you see the price before we install it.

For 2021–present Ford F-150s, the parts store's catalog only lists AGM batteries — those usually came with one from the factory, often for auto start-stop or heavier electrical loads, and we put the same type back. For 2004–2008, 2009–2014, 2015–2020, regular and AGM both fit — we'll match what your F-150 came with unless you ask for the upgrade.
