How it works

Book online and pay the service fee — your card is saved. We head to your Ranger, test the old battery, take it to the closest O'Reilly for the core exchange and buy the right new one at the store's walk-in price. Ford Ranger

Straight answers.

By O'Reilly's catalog, the Ford Ranger takes — 1998–2011: Group 59 (540–590 CCA); 2019–present: Group 48 or Group 94R (760–880 CCA). Engines can differ, so we confirm the exact battery for your Ranger when you book, and you see the price before we install it.

For 2019–present Ford Rangers, the parts store's catalog only lists AGM batteries — those usually came with one from the factory, often for auto start-stop or heavier electrical loads, and we put the same type back.
