How it works

Book online and pay the service fee — your card is saved. We head to your CLK, test the old battery, take it to the closest O'Reilly for the core exchange and buy the right new one at the store's walk-in price. Back at your car we charge the battery plus sales tax to your saved card, install it, test the charging system and email your receipt. Installation labor is covered for 90 days.

By O'Reilly's catalog, the Mercedes-Benz CLK takes — 1998–2002: Group 49 (825–950 CCA); 2003–2009: Group 49 (825–950 CCA). Engines can differ, so we confirm the exact battery for your CLK when you book, and you see the price before we install it.

The catalog lists regular batteries for every Mercedes-Benz CLK we cover; an AGM is an upgrade some owners choose for short trips and Oklahoma heat. For 1998–2002, 2003–2009, regular and AGM both fit — we'll match what your CLK came with unless you ask for the upgrade.

1998–2002: Under the hood. 2003–2009: Not under the hood — it's in the trunk, under the floor panel. Wherever it is, we swap it where the car is parked.
