2006–2011 BMW 3 Series
Where it is: In the trunk, under the floor panel on the right side.
After the swap: BMWs need the new battery registered with the car's computer so it charges it correctly — we do that as part of the swap.
2012–2018 BMW 3 Series

How it works
Book online and pay the service fee — your card is saved. We head to your 3 Series, test the old battery, take it to the closest O'Reilly for the core exchange and buy the right new one at the store's walk-in price. Back at your car we charge the battery plus sales tax to your saved card, install it, test the charging system and email your receipt. Installation labor is covered for 90 days.

By O'Reilly's catalog, the BMW 3 Series takes — 2006–2011: Group 48 (615–800 CCA); 2012–2018: Group 49 or Group 94R (800–950 CCA); 2019–present: Group 48 or Group 49 (760–950 CCA). Engines can differ, so we confirm the exact battery for your 3 Series when you book, and you see the price before we install it.
For 2012–2018, 2019–present BMW 3 Seriess, the parts store's catalog only lists AGM batteries — those usually came with one from the factory, often for auto start-stop or heavier electrical loads, and we put the same type back. For 2006–2011, regular and AGM both fit — we'll match what your 3 Series came with unless you ask for the upgrade.
